Addressing farmers at the innovative plots, the Director-General applauded the potential of the “Dada Lad” Technique for doubling the average productivity of cotton in the irrigated areas in Maharashtra. He also emphasized the scope for the spread of technique to the similar agro-ecologies in the other states where irrigated cotton is cultivated like Punjab. Dr Mohapatra also urged the cotton researchers to study the agro-techniques practised by the farmers – Shri Rameshwar Ambhore and Shri Kishore Chavan.

Earlier, Shri Dada Lad, Farmer gave a live demonstration of the innovative technique to the participating farmers. Shri Dinesh Kulkarni, Organization Secretary, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh underlined about “Dada Lad” Technique’s adoption by around 700 farmers in Jalna, Jalgaon and Nandurbar Districts.

He also stressed the promotion of such technologies by the ICAR and other stakeholders for profitable farming and retaining the rural youth in agriculture. Dr Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management & Agricultural Engineering), ICAR along with Senior Officials of ICAR & its Institutes and Vice-Chancellors of State Agricultural Universities were also present during the occasion.

There are two types of branches i.e. vegetative (monopodial) and reproductive (sympodial), the latter bears the bolls. Vegetative (monopodial) branches are structurally similar to the main stem and arise from the main stem near the ground and grow in an upright position. The number of vegetative branches depends primarily on the environment and plant spacing. Sympodial branches develop from buds on the main stem and are defined by the presence of floral buds (squares), flowers and fruits.

A devoted social worker Shri. Dada Lad, Organization Secretary of Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, Maharashtra and Goa state has a keen interest in cotton production, due to his association with the crop from childhood as cotton was the cash crop for his family livelihood. Therefore, he always bears a special bonding with cotton and whenever he comes across any agro-technology, he tries to extrapolate it in cotton. About 15 – 16 years ago while on tour for organizational work of Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, he was in a banana orchard. He observed that the farmers were removing the pseudo-stems. Upon enquiry, it was revealed to him that these lower branches are vegetative only and do not bear reproductive growth. Also, if left un-cut, it takes major nutrients and the ultimate yield is decreased.
Immediately he correlated it to the cotton crop where monopodial branches become thick than sympodial branches. He decided to implement the concept of removal of vegetative branches and started an experiment in a farmer’s field. He also made an intervention of promoting lateral branches by de-topping. The results were overwhelming.
The number of bolls per plant and boll weight significantly increased just be by removing monopodial branches after 40- 45 DAS. Encouraged by the results he convinced a group of farmers to adopt this experiment in the vicinity. Farmers who adopted also got convinced that a meagre intervention would give back a significant yield increase.
Details of Technology
One of the most interesting observations was that the removal of monopodial branches and de-topping of cotton plants resulted in a large accumulation of assimilates in the root system, which indicates that there is an increase in the flow of nutrients to the sinks and consequently more assimilates towards the old bolls or for initiating new and additional bolls.
This combination practice also resulted in better light penetration into the plant canopy, increased air circulation among plants resulting in an improved CO2 supply for photosynthesis, lower humidity, and a reduction in the amount of boll infestation on early set fruit. The overall effect of this technology is an increase in boll weight and the number of bolls, resulting in increased seed cotton yield. Technology has been immensely popularized in the last couple of years. At present more than 700 farmers with 1600 acres from Vidarbha and Marathwada has adopted this technology.
Recently scientific experimentation has been initiated at KVK, Nandurbar (MS). However, it is requested that the technology may be improvised further with its implementation through state and central govt. agencies in the interest of cotton growers. दिनांक 3 अक्टूबर 2021 को उत्तर प्रदेश के लखीमपुर खीरी में जो घटना घटी, वह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। घटना में लिप्त लोग किसान नही थे, विविध राजनैतिक दलों के थे, वामपंथी तरीकों से घटना को अंजाम दिया गया। लाठियों से पीट-पीटकर लोगों की निर्मम हत्या की गई, जो कम से कम किसान तो नहीं कर सकते।
कानून हाथ में लेना, सरेआम हत्याऐं कराना, ऐसा लगता है जैसे प्रोफेसनल लोगों ने, जल्लादों ने यह कार्य किया हो। इस घटना की जितनी निन्दा की जावे, कम है। इस प्रकार के कृत्यों में लिप्त लोगों को कठोरतम दण्ड दिया जाना चाहिए।
भारतीय किसान संघ मांग करता है कि इस जघन्य घटना की निष्पक्ष जांच जल्दी से जल्दी करके मृतकों के परिजनों को न्याय मिलें । भारतीय किसान संघ मृतक परिजनों के साथ संवेदना प्रकट करता है।

ऐसे देवतुल्य किसान को मैं प्रणाम करता हूँ और कहा कि सब लोग अपना अपना परिचय देते है कि मैं एक डॉक्टर, हूँ इंजीनियर हूँ वैज्ञानिक हूँ आदि आदि ये इंजीनियर,वैज्ञानिक बनने के लिये इनको किसी ना किसी विश्वविद्यालय में शिक्षा लेने पड़ी होगी लेकिन किसान एक ऐसा वैज्ञानिक है जो बिना किसी विश्वविद्यालय गए यह जनता है कि उसको कौन सी फसल किस नक्षत्र में किस दिशा में किस समय बोनी किस समय खाद्य पानी देना है हो सकता है वह अंग्रेजी भी नही जानता हो ओर हो सकता कि वह हिंदी भी पढ़ना नही जानता हो वह सिर्फ और सिर्फ कृषि वैज्ञानिक किसान ही है और अर्थ की चिंता किये बैगर देश के भरण पोषण के अपने परिश्रम से उत्पादन करता रहता है तो इसलिये देश वासियों को किसान का सम्मान करना चाहिये व उसके संम्मान के कार्यक्रम करने चाहिये।
इस देश में 70%किसान है जो अधिकतर सरकार की योजनाओं पर ही निर्भर रहते जब तक किसान स्वयं को उद्दमी बनाने पर ध्यान नही देगा तब तक किसान की आय नही बढ़ पाएगी।किसानों के उत्पाद को कंपनियां उत्पाद की गुणवक्ता आकार श्रेणी आदि के अनुसार प्रसंस्करण कर हमारे ही 20 रुपये किलो के गेँहू को दलिया बनाकर बाजार के माध्यम से 60-80 रुपये किलो का विपणन कर बिक्री कर देता है आज किसानों को अपनी आय बढ़ाने के लिये इस प्रकार के प्रयोग करने पड़ेंगे, इस प्रकार के व अनेक प्रकार उत्पाद तैयार करने के लिये कम कीमत के अच्छे यंत्र उपलब्ध है और भारतीय किसान संघ गौ-आधारित खेती करने व प्रसंस्करण का प्रशिक्षण देने ,विपणन हेतु मंडी उपलब्ध कराने का निरन्तर निशुल्क कर रहा है।
चंदगड, दि. २७ सितंबर : बायसेफ अनुसन्धान इंस्टीट्यूट के वरिष्ठ शोधकर्ता संजय पाटिल ने कहा, कई पीढ़ियों से खेती किए जाने वाले पारंपरिक बीज यहां की कृषि की जीवनदायिनी हैं। वे भारतीय किसान संघ द्वारा आयोजित ‘पारंपरिक बीज संरक्षण एवं महत्व’ पर आयोजित कार्यशाला में मुख्य वक्ता के रूप में बोल रहे थे। कार्यक्रम का आयोजन राम मंदिर में किया गया।
पाटिल ने कहा, “यद्यपि रासायनिक उर्वरकों और संकर बीजों का उपयोग करके हरित क्रांति का प्रयोग सफल रहा है, मानव शरीर पर इन खाद्य पदार्थों का प्रभाव पारंपरिक स्वदेशी है। इसलिए, पारंपरिक स्वदेशी बीज किस्मों को संरक्षित और खेती करना आवश्यक है।”
स्थानीय किस्मों का संरक्षण कर इसकी शुद्धता कैसे बढ़ाई जाए और अन्य किसानों को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए कम लागत पर खेती कैसे की जाए, इस पर मार्गदर्शन दिया। BICEF के पास धान, नाचनी और सब्जियों जैसी पारंपरिक फसलों की 350 किस्में हैं।
इसे किसान संघ के माध्यम से इच्छुक किसानों को नि:शुल्क देने का निर्णय लिया गया। भारतीय किसान संघ के सदस्य पंजीकरण अभियान की जानकारी दी गई।
इस अवसर पर वरिष्ठ किसान विठोबा गुलामकर, तुकाराम ओउलकर, जयराम गावड़े, महादेव पड़वले, अनिकेत मांद्रेकर, चंद्रकांत पाटिल, संदीप गावड़े, संजय पाटिल, गणपति पाटिल उपस्थित थे।

अभ्यास वर्ग में संघ के पदाधिकारियों के द्वारा नवीन कार्यकारिणी को संगठन के वारे में एक दिवसीय प्रशिक्षण दिया गया। जिसमें प्रदेश जैविक प्रमुख श्री प्रकाश सिंह जी रघुवंशी ने किसानों को जैविक खेती करने के करने की सलाह दी। जिससे किसान खेती की लागत को कम करके अपनी आमदनी को बढ़ा सकते हैं ।एवं जसवंत सिंह रघुवंशी प्रान्तीय उपाध्यक्ष गुना द्वारा संघ के संस्थापक श्री ठेंगड़ी जी के जीवन परिचय को विस्तार से जानकारी दी गई ।
