Bharatiya Kisan Sangh to enroll 1 crore members

KOREGAON (MAHARASHTRA): “Bharatiya KIsan Sangh (BKS) undertakes efforts to resolve problems confronted by the farmers of this country without hurting the national interests. To expand the base of the organization the BKS plans to enroll one crore members all over the country”, said National President of BKS Shri Annasaheb Murkute. He was addressing the delegates assembled at Shikrapur in Shirur taluk of Pune district recently.
Treasurer Madhukar Temgire in his address said that an awareness campaign would be launched to awaken the farmers to opt for bio-farming. For this bio-farming in-charge persons would be deputed at state level, he added. He said that the farmers have the first right over the bunds and tanks in the state. But in the absence of proper planning from the government, incidents like Maval happen, he added.
The meeting paid tributes to departed leaders and farmers killed in police firing at Maval. National Organizing Secretary of BKS Shri Dinesh Kulkarni, State President Dnyaneshwar Tupe, Treasurer Madhuklar Temgire, Organizing Secretary Dada Laad and other office-bearers were present at the meeting.
Dnyaneshwar Tupe was elected BKS State president and new executive committee was also declared. Resolutions moved by Madan Deshpande on effective steps to tackle situation arising out of drought and, another resolution moved by Madhuar Temgire opposing the FDI in retail sector were passed unanimously. Rajendra Gaikwad and Shirke conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
