Kisan Sangh demands summit for rural industry

BHOPAL: The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), a farmers' wing affiliated to Sangh Parivar, has demanded that 'Gramodyog Sammelan' be organised on lines of Global Investor Summit (GIS), which could encourage rural and cottage industry. BKS said it will also help promote rural and farm sectors in Madhya Pradesh.
BKS has also submitted a proposal to the state government that focuses on basic needs and assistance required to give a boost to rural and handicrafts sectors in the state. "The idea is to support rural, small and cottage industry which would control migration of rural population across the state apart from generating employment in rural areas, which is basic need of the hour," Sangh's regional coordinator for MP-Chhattisgarh, Shivkant Dixit told TOI. He said the government is focusing on foreign investment and inviting big industries for economic development through GIS, which is secondary.
